RePoSyD Workbook

Purpose

The purpose of this workbook is to describe the capabilities and functions of RePoSyD using a process model and use cases and to create an understanding of the holistic use of RePoSyD.

The processes described essentially focus on the required input information, the process steps and results or the documentation of results in the form of documents and data exports and are intended to support the user in the implementation of his daily work in the process and in the application of RePoSyD. The capabilities and functions of RePoSyD used for this purpose are only described to the extent necessary for the respective application, as a comprehensive description would go beyond the scope of this workbook.

The underlying process model is based on ISO 15288 Systems and software engineering - System life cycle processes and IEEE 1220 for Practical Systems Engineering, among others.

A word about the process model described in this workbook. One can argue a lot about whether this process is the right one, whether it can be applied in the organization, whether it is complete or whether it is the systems engineering process. But in the end it is pointless to discuss it, because it is the right process.

The answer to the “why” can be found in the IEEE 1220.

The enterprise…shall plan, conduct, and manage a fully integrated technical effort necessary to satisfy the general requirements of this document, as tailored for the specific project…
